What is the threaded hole on the bottom of the M-001’s receiver for?

That threaded hole in the base of the receiver isn't a sign you're missing anything from the box. It doesn't need to be covered or filled, and no included item uses it, though we may share more about it later. Here's the full explanation.

What is Motion Sync?

Motion Sync lines the sensor's reporting up with your host's cycle, which some players feel as smoother and others notice as a touch more latency. It's a toggle in WALLHACK Terminal, off by default, so try it both ways and keep what feels right. Read more on Motion Sync.

What are the system requirements for the M-001?

The M-001 works on any PC, old or new: plug in the receiver, finish setup, and play. Two caveats, Linux users may hit trouble updating firmware, and older CPUs can be less stable at high polling rates. Read the full compatibility notes.

What are the DPI and polling rate dials on the M-001 receiver?

The receiver's two dials apply DPI and polling rate straight from hardware, no software needed. The red positions on each dial map to the custom values you've saved in the software, for instant access. See how the receiver dials work.

WALLHACK M-001 DPI and polling rate customisation guide

Change DPI and polling two ways: instantly on the receiver dials, or with any custom value in WALLHACK Terminal, which also holds Lift-Off Distance, sensor modes and the sleep timer. The PAW3950 runs 100 to 30,000 DPI and 125 to 8,000 Hz, and custom values save to the receiver. Read the full DPI and polling customisation guide.

Using a high polling rate causes my mouse cursor or game to become laggy, what can I do?

The M-001 supports true 8000 Hz, with 500 Hz increment steps for systems that can't run the top rate cleanly. If you hit stutter or frame pacing issues, drop to 1000 Hz and climb back up until it's stable. See the full polling rate tuning guide.

The clips or snaps on my M-001 packaging box are stuck, what can I do?

The M-001 case doubles as reusable storage, and its latches can slide back to CLOSED while it's open and look stuck. Don't force them; press gently upward from the underside as you move them to OPEN. See how to release stuck latches safely.

My scroll wheel jumps or malfunctions

The M-001's dustproof encoder resists debris, but small particles can still cause skipped or reversed scrolling. Gently blowing air into the wheel area usually clears it, with no force and no liquid. See the full scroll wheel fix.

My mouse is stuttering or skipping on the glass pad, or losing tracking

On glass, consistent tracking needs both a clean sensor and a clean surface, and invisible build up is the usual culprit. Wiping the pad, cleaning the lens and checking your skates resolve most cases, with LOD, interference and polling rate as next steps. Work through the full glass pad tracking guide.

My mouse double clicks, what can I do?

Optical switches avoid the metal contact wear that causes double clicking on mechanical switches, so it's rare on the M-001. If it happens, check that nothing is physically blocking the buttons before anything else. See what to do about unexpected click behaviour.

My mouse cursor doesn’t move or randomly stops, why?

Random stops usually mean sensor calibration, Lift-Off Distance, a dusty lens, a low battery, or debris on the pad. Start with the power switch and battery, then adjust LOD and clean the sensor and pad. Follow the full troubleshooting steps here.

My M-001 mouse buttons sound different from each other, is this a defect?

The M-001 uses Omron optical switches binned for consistent actuation force, so the click feel stays uniform. Small differences in sound between buttons come from shell shape and tensioning, and are normal rather than a defect. Here's why button sound can vary.

My M-001 isn’t paired to the receiver, or doesn’t connect to my PC — what can I do?

Before re-pairing, confirm the official cable, a direct rear USB port, the power switch set to ON, and a charged, seated battery. If it still won't connect, a quick button combo re-pairs the mouse to the receiver. Follow the full pairing and troubleshooting steps.

My M-001 has lost signal, connection is not good, or disconnects randomly

A hold on the STATUS button shows your signal strength in blue LEDs; 4 to 5 is healthy, 1 to 2 causes latency and dropouts. Using the official cable and a rear motherboard USB port, and keeping the receiver close, fixes most of it. Work through the full connection stability checklist.

My M-001 battery isn’t charging anymore, what can I do?

If charging is inconsistent, check the contacts and dock for corrosion, dust, swelling or moisture before anything else. Everything needs to be clean and dry, with no liquid exposure. See the full list of what to check when a battery stops charging.

I lost my WALLHACK M-001 batteries, can I replace them?

If you lose or misplace one or both M-001 batteries, a compatible 2 pack is available on our website and works with any M-001. If your mouse arrived without a battery, that's a different case and we can help. Here's where to get replacements and what to do about a missing one.

I can’t connect my M-001 to the WALLHACK web software, what can I do?

The web software needs a browser that supports WebHID, which means Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Firefox returns a WEB HID API NOT AVAILABLE error and isn't supported. See the supported browsers and what to do if it still won't connect.

How do I replace and charge the battery on the WALLHACK M-001?

The hot swap system lets one battery power the mouse while the second charges in the receiver dock, so long sessions don't stop for a recharge. Ejecting and swapping takes seconds, metal contact end first. See the full battery swap and charging steps.

How to fix and prevent cursor skipping and other tracking issues

Skipping and spin out usually trace back to Lift-Off Distance settings, a dusty sensor lens, or a dirty pad. Adjusting LOD in the Calibration tab and cleaning the sensor clears most cases. Work through the full tracking fix guide.

How do I update the firmware on my mouse?

Firmware updates bring bug fixes, performance improvements and new features to the M-001. You'll need the receiver connected, the mouse powered on, and the WALLHACK Firmware Update Tool from our site. Follow the full firmware update steps here.

How do I remove and replace the skates on my M-001 mouse?

The M-001 ships with six PTFE pill skates pre-installed, and there's no spare set in the box, so replacements are sold separately on wallhack.com. Stay on PTFE for stock glide, or move to UHMW-PE for a slower, more controlled feel. Follow the full skate removal and replacement walkthrough.

How do I fix and prevent base wobble or tilt?

Wobble or tilt usually comes down to skates that are worn, damaged, missing, or seated outside their contact areas. Check that all six are installed correctly and replace any that are heavily worn to restore stable glide. See how to diagnose and fix base wobble.

How do I clean my mouse sensor?

A single speck of dust on the sensor lens causes more tracking trouble than a dirty pad ever will, and a 30 second clean fixes most of it. All you need is a clean cotton swab, good light, and a careful dry pass first. Follow the full six step sensor cleaning guide.

How do I check the signal strength of my M-001?

Press and hold the STATUS button on the receiver to enter Signal Strength Check mode, where blue LEDs show your live connection quality. Aim for 4 to 5 lit LEDs; 1 to 2 means a weak link and more latency. Follow the full signal check steps here.

Does the M-001 have onboard memory? What is it?

Onboard memory stores your DPI, polling rate, Lift-Off Distance and other settings on the mouse itself, so they follow you from PC to PC with no background software running. That also means less system overhead during play. Here's how onboard memory works in full.

Can the M-001 mouse be used without a receiver?

The M-001 runs a true 8000 Hz wireless link, and the receiver is what keeps that stable, so it's required, and there's no USB port on the mouse for a cable. Read how the receiver handles bandwidth, DPI control and battery charging.

Can my mouse connect to a different receiver?

The M-001 is built for its own receiver, with charging and DPI/polling dials that third party or other brand receivers can't provide, so it won't pair to them. If you're moving to a replacement WALLHACK receiver, follow the full pairing steps here.

Can I use the M-001 without the software?

The receiver's built in dials change DPI and polling rate without opening anything. The web software is there when you want custom DPI, Lift-Off Distance and more, and onboard memory keeps it all saved to the mouse. See what you can do with and without the software.

An item is missing from the M-001 box

Every M-001 ships with a USB cable, two batteries and an instruction booklet. If you've checked the box carefully and something's still missing, we'll open an investigation and send the missing parts where we can. Here's exactly what to include when you get in touch so we can sort it quickly.

Are replacement parts available for my M-001?

The batteries and the receiver's USB cable are the parts we can replace if they arrive faulty and your order is eligible. The receiver, dials, scroll wheel, buttons and internal components aren't covered. See which M-001 parts are replaceable and which aren't.

Are the KS-TR switches compatible with south-facing PCB layouts?

The KS-TR switches (Light, Medium, and Heavy) are designed for north-facing PCB layouts only. When installed, the integrated light guide must face toward the top of the keyboard. On south-facing PCB layouts, the light guide may interfere with the underside of the keycap, preventing proper keycap installation and restricting key travel.

Note: North-facing and south-facing refer to the position of the per-key backlight LEDs on the PCBA relative to each switch. In a north-facing layout, the LED is positioned above the center of the switch. In a south-facing layout, it is positioned below the center of the switch.
