I’ve had this mousepad for about a week and have put roughly 55–60 hours of gameplay on it. I also have prior experience using hard but this is my first glass mousepad.
1. Initial feel / speed
Coming from harder surfaces, this pad didn’t feel as fast as I expected at first. It initially felt a bit slower, but after some adjustment time, the control became more noticeable and easier to work with.
2. UHMW-PE skates
If you get the bundle like I did, the UHMW-PE skates add a substantial amount of control. I haven’t tested the CR 005 surface, so I can’t directly compare, but with the UHMW-PE skates the glide felt very controlled and noticeably quieter, which I liked.
I experimented with different configurations (3/3 and 2/3 based on wallhack’s recommendations), but ultimately they made the mouse feel too slow for my preference. That said, this is completely personal preference,if you prefer control, you may really enjoy them.
3. Sleeve fit
I tried the included sleeve in my bundle (small/medium). For my hand size (17.5 x 9 cm), I did have to roll the thumb portion slightly to keep it from slipping off my palm over time. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind depending on your hand size. It did help reduce friction during longer sessions.
Overall
I really enjoy using this pad. I play both tracking-heavy and tactical shooters, and while pure PTFE skates still offer unmatched raw speed, this mousepad provides a strong balance of speed and control. It allows for precise, controlled movements without feeling overly restrictive.
If you understand what you’re looking for in a mousepad and play styles that benefit from control, this is an excellent option. Even without prior experience on similar surfaces, the adjustment period is fairly quick.
For context, I play at a relatively high level (Immortal 1 in Valorant and GM4 in Overwatch), so I’m fairly sensitive to differences in glide and control. In my opinion, this pad strikes one of the best balances between speed and control that I’ve used.
